The Scott Family Visit

Fall is in the air. The mornings are chilly, the dogs are bundling in front of the portable heater, and Sara caught the first cold/sinus infection of the year. Sara's Mom and Dad came to visit last weekend and we had a lovely time just laying low. (Sara got sick the day they arrived.)

Betty has graduated from Chemo and is doing very well. She and Sara both took a nap every afternoon and her energy level was impressive (better that Sara's even). The first night of the visit Betty took off her wig to show us the new growth of hair coming back in (looks great by the way) and Gabby went nuts. She yelled at Betty through the entire dinner hopping that she take it off her head again and throw it. She loves stuffed animals.

During one of Sara's naps Betty, Warren and I did some blackberry picking in the back yard for desert. Warren won for the first to fill his plastic cup. Mmmmmmmmm blackberries and lactose free vanilla ice cream!

We had some short, fun excursions over the weekend including the dog show twice, shopping for yummy treats and Toshi's. Monday, when I went back to work, the Scott's drove out to the coast to see the Newport Aquarium.

The dog show was new to all of us and really quite entertaining. I am posing at the agility show. Our pick for best in show at this event was the dog that was so excited that he barked his entire run through the course. He clearly loved performing. The poodle picture was a must as he was a celebrity, the #2 toy in the country. The judge is carefully deliberating her best in breed pick of the spaniels-a very intense moment (we were all pretty sure Ruby would have won hands..or rather paws down).
