Chopping Firewood on the Hottest Day of the Year

This weekend was all about getting ready for winter. In 100+ weather we chopped and stacked chords of wood. We rented a log splitter Friday night and took it over to Becky and Peter's. It was a trade that worked out best for us I think. The four of us split what was left of their walnut tree, which turned out to be three truck loads. For helping them they gave us all of the split wood and fed us Hole in the Wall BBQ. MMMMMMMMMMM Pulled Pork!!

Saturday Sara and I split all of the wood that was stashed under the deck. Sara built a fancy place to stack the wood and now its mostly put away and drying for our warmth and enjoyment come winter.

Sunday morning we created Facebook pages then got to work. Sara built a cover/roof for the new wood area and I picked blueberries to freeze for winter treats!

Concrete Counter Tops and Digging

Another cute photo of the girls! This weekend we traded help with John and Sherry. John and Sara spent some time working on the mold for the new Sandreth concrete bathroom sink while Sherry and I dug out some of the hill to access the electrical wire to the main house. Plan is to pull it when disconnected and redirect to the new meter base in the guest house. BRILLIANT!

Vacation 2008 - Sunday

Dad, Sara, and I woke up early for some golfing and mom stayed home to bake with our buckets of blueberries and Special K bars for our softball party. The SB party was at Colleen's this year. We played horse, pig and hog (all the same game of course), and had a delicious BBQ. After the party we went home and watched August Rush.

Vacation 2008 - Saturday

Saturday was fun filled with out a single moment wasted. We picked buckets of blueberries in the morning, shopped the Saturday Market in the afternoon, got up close with nature, and spent the evening at Shakespeare in the park.

Vacation 2008 - Friday

Friday was fabulous! We played tennis, went out to dinner at the "Wich" House, and watched Mama Mia. The tennis was embarrassing, yet fun, the sandwich was delicious and Mama Mia was a toe tapping, shoulder shaker! After the movie we went back to the house and dad and I had a guitar jam session! A Fabulous Friday
